St James’s Hotel Group has appointed Simon Hall as general manager for its boutique Hotel Indigo Bath, which is due to open next spring.

Simon, pictured, has joined the group with more than 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.

He will oversee the day-to-day running of the 166-bed hotel, which is being developed from the former Pratt’s Hotel and The Halcyon and Circo nightclub in Grade I listed Georgian buildings on South Parade.

Simon previously worked as general manager of the 332- bedroom Holiday Inn London-Regent’s Park, where he moved the hotel up 60 places on TripAdvisor, achieved Venue Verdict Gold status for meetings and raised more than £25,000 for the hotel’s nominated charity.

St James’s Hotel Group director of sales and marketing Sian Pirone said: “We are delighted to have Simon joining our team at such a pivotal point in the development of the hotel. With his passion for hotels and proven track record in developing and managing a successful team, we are excited to work together towards the successful launch of Hotel Indigo Bath next year.”

Simon added: “I am looking forward to working with the fun and unique Indigo brand to develop the hotel’s ethos in the coming months in preparation for the launch.  My priorities include developing my team so that we have a successful launch and deliver a best-in-class guest experience at Hotel Indigo Bath.”

St James’s Hotel Group will operate the hotel – one of a number of hotel openings in Bath planned over the next year – under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). It will include a restaurant, bar and gym designed to reflect the influences of the architects and novelists who made Bath famous.
