Rotork, the Bath-based advanced manufacturing group, has today acquired Flowco, a small business based in Midsomer Norton providing breakdown, repair and replacement services to utility providers and contractors.

Flowco operates a team of mobile engineers specialising in flow control products such as valves, electric actuators, penstocks, tidal gates, pumps and associated control systems.

Rotork, which has grown in recent years through a series of acquisitions, many of them overseas designs and manufactures flow control equipment for the global market including actuators and valves. Its products are used in the oil, water and gas industry often in harsh conditions such as deserts.

Rotork chief executive Peter France said: “Flowco will further enhance our service offering in the southern part of the UK market. Flowco has excellent relationships with its water utility customer base who value the responsiveness of its service offering.”

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
