Bath integrated marketing firm AgencyUK has called on the talents of local artist Kate Davies to create a unique interactive Christmas card with hidden clues to 25 festive songs.

Illustrator and watercolourist Kate hand-painted the chaotic, snowy scene – based on the agency’s Beehive Yard location – to include intriguing and witty hints at the song titles.

Having sent the beautifully-crafted, humorous card, pictured below, to clients and suppliers, AgencyUK is now encouraging them to visit an interactive festive mini-site - happychristmas.agencyuk.com - to find out how many of the song references they found.

Visitors will also get a chance to view a behind-the-scenes, time-lapse video of Kate creating the card filmed by AgencyUK using a GoPro Hero3 and Canon 550D.

Sharing the image on social media will also take users to a Spotify playlist which reveals all the featured festive tracks.

AgencyUK creative director Zane Radcliffe said: “We wanted to create a Christmas communication that people could interact with, and have a little fun.

“Hiding 25 Christmas songs in a seemingly traditional Christmas card makes it as challenging as it is charming, and it’s something we hope people will share.

“Kate’s hand-painted watercolours are a lovely and endearing alternative to a lot of the digital design that we do.”

Kate, who works from a studio at home in Colerne, said: “I so enjoyed doing this illustration – it was right up my street.

“AgencyUK wanted a scene which featured their offices as well as lots of snow and Christmas sparkle and Zane had done a lot of the hard work, choosing the songs and possible ways of portraying the songs in pictures.

“I hope it brings lots of Christmas merriment, amusement, and joy – if not a little frustration – as people try to work out just what are all the 25 Christmas songs illustrated.”

In September AgencyUK was named the South West’s top digital agency in industry publication The Drum’s annual Digital Census review of the sector.

It was also ranked fifth of all agencies employing fewer than 25 staff across the whole of the UK.

AgencyUK clients include mode train makers Hornby, Welsh Lamb and Ladbrokes.
