Bath & North East Somerset Council has appointed commercial property agents Williams Gunter Hardwick to let retail units in the historic city’s main shopping thoroughfare.

The Bristol-based Williams Gunter Hardwick team is working with the council’s property services department and joint agents Carter Jonas to fill two prime units on Stall Street. It is also sole agent on a unit on Milsom Street.

The two-unit Stall Street outlet is on a prominent corner site opposite the Roman Baths and close to major retailers such as Next, Bhs and Marks & Spencer.

The site can provide various size options, from just over 1,200 sq ft sales floorspace  to a flagship store of more than 12,150 sq ft depending on the tenant’s needs.

The unit in Milsom Street, voted Britain’s Best Fashion Street in the 2010 Google Street View Awards, has 532 sq ft sales and ancillary storage space. It adjoins T.M. Lewin and Cargo and is opposite the Jolly’s department store.

Williams Gunter Hardwick director Stuart Williams said; “We are hoping to use our national work and contacts to secure some new retailers to Bath, which is often one of the first cities outside London that retailers target when entering the UK.

“These are prime sites in two of the best-known shopping streets in the UK. It’s been really interesting watching Bath develop since the opening of the SouthGate centre.

“Footfall is definitely up and these are fantastic opportunities for retailers wanting to be a part of Bath’s busy shopping scene.”
