Bath-based financial services software and consultancy services provider Altus has agreed to sponsor Great Britain’s top bobsleigh crew after being motivated by their enthusiasm and their energy.

Team Bobsleigh Brad, which is made up of six world-class athletes and led by Bath-based number one bobsleigh pilot Bradley Hall, finished sixth in the overall world rankings last year.

Despite this, the team, pictured, continues to be unsupported by UK Sport and self-funds all its competitive endeavours.

It competes in two-man and four-man disciplines, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, will primarily compete in two-man this year until international racing rules are re-appraised.

Altus managing director Kevin Okell said: “We have a very strong connection to our community and enjoy taking an active part in supporting local charities and sports teams and tournaments. When the team approached us for support, we didn’t have to think long about it.

“We were completely blown away by their enthusiasm and their energy. They are a fantastic team, and we are delighted to be able to help them. We’re looking forward to cheering them all the way down the ice tracks and hopefully to a podium.”

Bobsleigh Team Brad pilot Bradley Hall added: “We are so grateful for the support that Altus has given us. We have an exciting winter competition calendar to look forward to, and without their support we just wouldn’t be able to continue competing.”

The team started its World Cup tour on December 12 in Austria and its season will peak with the World Championships in Altenberg, Germany from February 5 to 14. All its races can be watched on the IBSF Live YouTube stream.

Altus was founded in 2005 with a mission to speed up financial services with superior technology. The firm supplies specialist consultancy services and market-leading automation software to more than 100 clients in the investment, pensions, general insurance and wealth management sectors. Privately-owned, it employs 70-plus people.
