Bath-based Andrew Brownsword Hotels is to begin the search for a new chief executive following the announcement that Stephanie Hocking is set to leave the group at the end of the month.

Stephanie, pictured, joined Andrew Brownsword Hotels, which owns 13 venues in countryside settings and city centre locations across the UK, including The Bath Priory, in 2016 from Malmaison Hotels.

She said: “After seven happy years working for the Andrew Brownsword Group, leading the most fabulous collection of hotels and working with our simply brilliant team of people, I feel the time is now right for me to move.

“It has been a privilege to have worked for Andrew Brownsword, who is the most inspirational entrepreneur and personality anyone could have the luck to meet.

“I am incredibly grateful and thankful for the immense loyalty, hard work and support my central colleagues, our hotel GMs and their teams have afforded me in the past seven years, it has been quite a journey.”

Andrew Brownsword, who previously owned Bath Rugby, thanked Stephanie for her “dedication and commitment” to the group.

“Much has been accomplished in that time, the highlights being the development of important roles and relationships within the business and many operational advancements.” He added.

“For all her achievements we are very grateful and wish her a fond farewell and the best of luck for the future.”

Before joining Malmaison, Stephanie was operations director for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts' England properties.

Andrew Brownsword Hotels’ collection also includes the award-winning Gidleigh Park in Devon, the 900-year-old Amberley Castle in West Sussex, and the Sydney House Chelsea in London.
