Expanding Chippenham-based recruitment company 24-7 Staffing has appointed a new associate director to its board.

Paul Squires, pictured, joins co-directors Julian and Melody Thompson at the helm of the business, which they set up in 2004.

The growing company has a head office in Chippenham, a branch in Yate, near Bristol, and another in Amesbury which opened last year.

Paul who joined 24-7 Staffing last year as Chippenham branch manager and his appointment as associate director is part of the firm’s strategy to expand while at the same time retaining quality services for clients and candidates, as an independent business.

Paul, from Bristol, has more than 25 years’ experience in recruitment, having joined the sector in 1990 after nine years in the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm.

He worked with national firm Manpower for 10 years, covering a range of roles including on-site contract manager with a major client, then running that client’s three UK sites.

In 2000 he moved to Pertemps, again as account manager for a main client, and then helping franchisees of a Pertemps subsidiary in setting up and developing their businesses.

Five years later he set up and ran his own recruitment company, which he and his business partner later sold. Paul then had a three year break to focus on his interest in property development, before joining 24-7 Staffing.

He said: “I am really enjoying the role and very excited to be joining Julian and Melody as an associate director.

“I look forward to further supporting the development of the Chippenham headquarters and the Yate office, and to helping develop the business overall.”

Julian, 24-7 Staffing’s managing director, added: “Paul has done an excellent job in looking at the bigger picture for the business and putting strategies in place to move it forward.

“He has an excellent recruitment background, and brings a wealth of experience to 24-7 Staffing, so we are delighted to welcome him to the board and look forward to working more closely with him.”

24-7 Staffing provides permanent, temporary and contract staff for the driving, industrial, commercial and healthcare sectors. It is an accredited centre with JAUPT (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training) for driver CPC training, and has a training division for its industrial, commercial and healthcare sectors.
