Husband and wife team Matt Lewis and Federica Marconi have opened a Spanish-style tapas bar in Chippenham with support from Barclays.

Los Amigos, which boasts a Spanish themed menu, décor and ambience, is an expansion of the couple’s popular coffee shop in the town’s Market Place.

By taking over a former shop unit next door, the two now have 150 covers in 1,400 sq ft across the two properties.

Matt Lewis, who has experience of running a Spanish bar, said: “The coffee shop has proved to very successful and, from speaking to our customers, we felt there was a gap in the market for a tapas bar in the town.

“This is a great opportunity for us to expand our current offering and customer feedback so far has been excellent.”

The firm has hired two staff to meet the demand of running both the coffee shop and tapas bar.

Barclays Business manager in Chippenham, Sam Hudson, said: “Matt and Federica work incredibly hard to offer first-class customer service and a coffee and café experience that everyone enjoys locally.

“We are extremely pleased to have been able to support their dream of opening a Spanish tapas bar and wish them every success in the future.”
