Bath Ales has relaunched Rare Hare, the strongest beer in its portfolio, ahead of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

The aptly-named limited edition 5.2% abv ale makes brief appearances in Bath Ales’ brewing calendar for special occasions. This Easter it will be available in the firm’s pubs and brewery shop.

According to the independent brewery, based between Bath and Bristol at Warmley, pre-order sales of Rare Hare are at an all-time high.

It describes the chestnut brown ale as a smooth premium beer that is full in flavour, dry and clean on the palate, and with its caramel, toffee flavours, the perfect accompaniment to an Easter Sunday roast dinner.

Bath Ales sales director Mark Harding said: “It’s great to see Rare Hare back in the pubs and shop for Easter.

“Each time it is released it proves very popular with our customers. The appeal of Rare Hare lies in its delicious smooth taste and limited availability – it can be easy to miss but is hard to forget.”

The latest brew is available in 500ml individual bottles or in 12-bottle cases online at the Bath Ales website or in the Bath Ales’ shop at Warmley.

It is also available in cask across Bath Ales’ pub estate and in other venues across the South West while stocks last.

Bath Ales portfolio ranges from pale to amber ales, such as its flagship beer Gem, through to smooth stouts and porters.
