Bath-born artist returns to city to open unique gift shop

Bath-born artist Jenny Wiscombe tomorrow opens her first shop in the city, Pug & Puffin, which specialises in unique handcrafted Bath-themed gifts and quirky accessories for dogs.

The shop will stock a range of exclusive gifts such as coasters, plaques, postcards and signs along with fun and unusual dog products such as classic tweed collars and leads as well as natural, wholesome treats for dogs.

The shop, on Northumberland Place, was inspired by Jenny’s pet pug Noah, who will be resident in the shop.

Jenny, who attended Bath College, and studied Graphic Communication at Bath Spa University, designs and makes many of the products herself, alongside her father Martin, who is a commercial artist. The Bath shop is their second venture, having opened Pug & Puffin Lyme Regis in 2014.

The store will contain a workshop and studio where designs will be painted and created by hand, ready to be sold in the shop.

Jenny, pictured above with Noah, said: “Pug & Puffin was founded alongside my dad. We are both artists with a love of dogs so combining our passions seemed like the perfect idea. I grew up in Bath and following the success of our Lyme Regis store it seemed like the next logical step to expand into the city.”
