Three directors running businesses in the Bath area are this evening going head-to-head to win the prestigious title of South West Director of the Year.

The three have been shortlisted for the accolade in the Institute of Directors (IoD) regional awards, which celebrate excellence in the boardroom.

Chris Smith of Marshfield Bakery, Esther McMorris, CEO of management consultancy Nine Feet Tall and Simon Barbato, managing director of integrated creative, brand and digital agency Mr B & Friends make up three of the four contenders for the Director of the Year award.

James Eades, managing director of IT support specialists Systemagic, has been nominated for the title of Young Director. Other categories in the awards include Public Sector and Family Business Director.

Bath Business News, the area’s premium digital platform for authoritative business news, is official media partner of the awards, which will be presented this evening at a ceremony at Bristol’s Paintworks.

Bath Business News and its sister titles Bristol Business News and Swindon Business News will be the only media outlet with full coverage of the awards ceremony and profiles of the winners.

Bath Business News is also staging a round table discussion with IoD chief economist James Sproule and some of the region’s leading entrepreneurs – a full report of this prestigious event, chaired by Bath Business News editor Robert Buckland, will appear in next week’s Bath Business News e-bulletin.

The winners from this evening’s awards will go on to compete for the national awards in the autumn.
