Bath Business Blog: Helen Rich, Taste of Bath. Working in partnership is a great way to grow

This will be our seventh year in the hamper business – and every Christmas is busier than the last!

So this year, to keep up with ever-increasing demand, we’ve taken on fantastic local firm Blisters to help us with fulfilment. We have also employed a new salaried office manager to make sure we keep on top of all those extra orders.

We’re really excited to see how the Taste of Bath family continues to grow!

Our warehouse team are lightning packers – but we’re getting so many orders that we want to make sure we can keep up during the festive season.

For the past few years we’ve been so popular that we’ve had to close our business order book around the beginning of December – which always comes as a bit of a shock to businesses that don’t have to start thinking about Christmas from July onwards.

Providing outstanding customer service for business clients is our highest priority, and we hate to disappoint, so we knew it would be crucial to come up with a solution.

Working with Blisters will mean we can take more orders than ever before.

Based in Midsomer Norton, Blisters was founded by Martin Earl and Steve Curtis way back in 1985 to provide creative packaging based on blister packaging – hence the name.

Nearly 40 years later the business is still going strong, having gradually adapted to provide all sorts of innovative packing solutions and services. It is now a by-word for quality in the industry.

Supporting local, independent businesses is at the core of Taste of Bath’s brand values. It’s not just something we ask our customers to do – we want to make sure we practice what we preach, so we’re absolutely delighted to be working with such a brilliant Somerset business.

Blisters will be packing ambient products for the ready-made hampers from our stunning Christmas Collection, saving our warehouse team a huge amount of time.

Blisters has a longstanding reputation for incredibly high quality and we’ve worked with them closely on setting up the process, so we have full confidence they’ll create our famous hampers exactly as we would.

Hampers will then be delivered to the Taste of Bath warehouse so our team can add any chilled ingredients and pop in the personalised Meet the Producer cards.

Once the hampers are finished, we’ll provide the same fantastic fully-tracked delivery service and customer care that we always offer for business orders.

Over the summer we took on a brilliant new salaried office manager Annie, who’ll be keeping a close eye on all these extra orders, along with our dynamic operations manager Jo, pictured above with me, to make sure the service is just as good as ever.

We’re looking forward to being able to help even more business clients spread a little festive cheer this year – but we would still recommend getting orders in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Father Christmas might manage to deliver everywhere for everyone in just one night, but we haven’t mastered that quite yet… maybe next year!
