Bath-headquartered law firm Royds Withy King has introduced its new regional partner for the city to the business community at its annual ‘meet the team’ event.
Stuart Brazington, who has worked at Royds Withy King in Bath for more than 10 years, specialises in brain and catastrophic injuries and leads the firm’s Brain Injury team.
He told the gathering of more than 100 clients and contacts at the Apex Hotel that Bath was a great place to live and work and that Royds Withy King planned to play a key role in the city’s future economic prosperity.
In his new role, Stuart – one of four new regional lead partners across Royds Withy King’s offices in Swindon, Oxford and London as well as Bath – will also help develop new market opportunities and build on the firm’s community links.
These links include a vote every two years by partners and staff for a local charity to benefit from their fundraising activities, volunteering and practical support.
Kate Morton, chief executive of Bath Mind – the firm’s current charity – spoke at the event about the vital work it performs in across Bath & North East Somerset for those living with mental health issues.
The independent charity works with businesses through awareness sessions, workplace training and advice for HR departments to promote wellbeing in the workplace and raise awareness of what, she said, was still a silent condition.
Royds Withy King managing partner Graham Street reflected on the successes of the firm over the previous year as it continued to build on its 2016 merger and maintained its growth – rising seven places to rank 85th in The Lawyer magazine’s UK Top 100.
The full-service firm now employs 480 people, – more than half of them in Bath, which reflected the city’s importance to the firm, said Mr Street.
