Bath homeless charity Julian House is calling on businesses of all sizes in the city to take on its epic fundraising challenge – The Circuit of Bath Walk.

The sponsored walk, now in its 20th year, takes place on Sunday, September 26, and involves a 20-mile circular route through some of the most beautiful countryside and villages surrounding Bath and with spectacular views across the historic city.

The charity, which supports homeless people with a range of services, hopes to inspire companies to get involved for a bit of friendly competition and businesses that sign up will be entered into the special head-to-head competition.

Each team will gain points based on different criteria, including most funds raised, most miles walked/run, most participants taking part and best photo on the day, as they vie for the title of ‘Walk Champions of Bath.’

Julian House senior community and events fundraiser Jess Gay said: “The Circuit of Bath is a really important event for everyone involved.

“By taking part, you not only get an incredible sense of achievement after walking 20 miles over challenging terrain but also the knowledge that the sponsorship you raise will help to rebuild lives. The challenge is a fantastic opportunity for teambuilding in a safe and fun environment.

“We are all bored of Zoom nowadays, so we hope this challenge will provide our local businesses with something to look forward to.”

Companies taking part will get a tailored corporate fundraising pack bursting with ideas, helpful hints and tips on fundraising as well as acknowledgment of their support on the charity’s website and social media as well as bi-monthly leader board updates – as they all vie for that top spot!

“We are very aware of the situation around COVID-19 and will continue to monitor and follow the advice being issued,” Jess added.

“The safety of the community, participants, staff and volunteers is and always will be our top priority. We would like to reassure anyone who purchases a ticket to the event that they will have the option of a refund if the event has to be cancelled due to Covid.”

Among the Bath firms taking part last year was financial services company ORX. Marketing & communications assistant manager Ashley Green said: “We would absolutely recommend taking part in The Circuit of Bath challenge to anyone who is considering doing so.

“It was a tough 20 miles, but the sun was shining and the sights were beautiful. We were amazed at the level of generous support from ORX, family, and friends, who all clearly see value in the work Julian House does for the community."

The charity is encouraging participants to sign up early to get their name on the leader board.
