Global workspace provider Regus is looking to open its first base in Bath as it widens its search for new business centre locations across the South West and South Wales.

The firm, which operates from 300-plus centres across the UK, has appointed West-based property consultancy Alder King to find new locations. While it has four sites in the Bristol area and one in Melksham, it has not had a presence in Bath.

It will focus on properties between 10,000 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft in traditional central and out-of-town business locations. It is also keen to identify transport hubs, universities and shopping centres where it can open business centres as it looks to meet the needs of an increasingly-mobile workforce.

Regus has a number of centres at motorway services areas including Leigh Delamere on the M4 near Chippenham.

Alder King head of agency Simon Price said: “Regus has identified untapped demand for flexible workplaces in a number of towns across the region and excessive demand in centres where it already has representation such as Bristol and Exeter.

“We will use our unrivalled knowledge of the region’s office market to help Regus expand its network and meet this demand over the next 12 months.”

As well as Bath, Regus is also interested in opening in Taunton, Swindon and Cheltenham and expanding its presence in Bristol.
