Staff from Bath law firm Withy King have raised more than £1,300 for Children’s Hospice South West by cycling 136 miles over two days.

The team started out at the charity’s head office near Bristol before riding on to Wiltshire Air Ambulance in Devizes and then finishing in Oxford at Helen & Douglas House.

Earlier this year these three charities were chosen by the firm’s three offices – in Bath, Swindon and Oxford – as the annual good cause. The bike ride raised more than £4,000 which has been split between the three charities.

Withy King partner and chair of its charities committee Chris Kane said: “As promised earlier this year when we unveiled our new brand, we are committed to making a positive impact on the communities we work in and this sponsored bike ride is one of many initiatives we have undertaken under our new charities strategy.

“We would like to thank our friends, family and colleagues for their generous donations and look forward to our next fundraising campaign.”

Children’s Hospice South West corporate partnerships fundraiser Kate Fisher said: “We are so delighted with what a great success this bike ride has been for Withy King.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the cyclists, organisers and supporters of this event, which has raised a substantial amount for their chosen charities. At Children’s Hospice South West, £1,000 could fund all our in house activities for the children staying with us for a year. What a fantastic achievement.”

Founded in 1991, Children’s Hospice South West became the country’s second children’s hospice after Helen House in Oxford. The charity now has three hospices supporting families across the South West. It provides a wide range of invaluable services, from end of life care and bereavement support to respite breaks for both children and parents.
