A six-strong team from Bath law firm Stone King is to scale the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales to raise money for two charities.

The team will set off on September 15 to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon as part of the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing  9,800ft of mountainous terrain, walking a total of 26 miles, and traveling between three countries – all within 24 hours.

In the team are partner John Brownrigg and Laura Ingram from Stone King's family and mediation team, and keen mountain walker and partner Alison Allen who heads its trusts and estates team.

They will be joined by Amy Gordan, a trainee solicitor in the employment team, legal cashier Gemma Peacock, and Sally McFadden, an associate in the firm's commercial property team.

They will be raising money for the firm's chosen charities for the year – Shooting Star CHASE, which provides children's hospice services, supporting local families with a sick child or teenager not expected to reach their 19th birthday, and the Bath Institute of Medical Engineering (BIME), a design and development charity working in the fields of medicine, health care and assistive technology for disabled people.

Laura Ingram said: “We are all looking forward to taking part in the challenge but know that it won't be easy. But the prospect of raising money for two very worthwhile causes will give us the energy and determination we need to succeed.”
