Property group Andrews has expanded its presence in Bath by acquiring City Central Lettings, the long-established, independent letting agency.

Under the deal, more than 100 landlords on City Central Lettings’ books have been transferred to Andrews’ Bath Central branch.

Andrews Lettings & Management managing director David Westgate said: “Over the last 17 years, City Central Lettings has developed an in-depth knowledge not only of the lettings sector but also of the city and its surrounding areas.

“This is very much in keeping with the Andrews’ approach to lettings and management. I feel confident that they’ll enjoy the service that our existing team will provide to them.”

Keynsham-based Andrews operates 55 branches across the South of England. In Bath it has branches on Newbridge Road, Camden Road and at Bear Flat, as well as its central office in Princes Buildings.

The firm, which this year celebrates its 70th anniversary, has also acquired Mackendrick Norcott, a business offering strong lettings and sales operations from its Winterbourne office on the outskirts of Bristol.

The existing team is being retained under the leadership of Andrews manager, Jim Ellis, who previously ran the Andrews’ branches in Downend and Westbury on Trym. The office will be rebranded as soon as planning permission is secured.

Andrews chief executive Michael Robson said: “Mackendrick Norcott presented a business ethos and culture very much in keeping with that of Andrews, whilst also offering a depth and breadth of services to complement those in other nearby Andrews’ offices.”

Financial details of the acquisitions have not been disclosed.
