Bath Life Awards champion city’s best businesses

Designer resale website Fashion Bloodhound and London & Country Mortgages have won the business categories in this year’s Bath Life Awards.

The prestigious awards – which celebrate the best of Bath’s culture, business, fashion and lifestyle – were presented at a gala dinner at the Assembly Rooms last week.

Fashion Bloodhound collected the New Business Award. The company has built up a large celebrity and press following by buying and reselling designer items. Previously an online-only retailer, it opened a pop-up store in Bath’s Little SouthGate.

London & County Mortgages secured the Professional Services Award, with BIBS (Bath Independent Building Society) gaining a special commendation.

Arts – winner: Natural Theatre Company. Special Commendation: The Little Theatre

Creative/Innovation – winner: The Makery

Estate agent/Letting – winner: The Apartment Company

Ethical – winner: Community Farm

Event – winner: The Big M. Special Commendation: Bath Ladies Day – Racecourse

Watering hole/cocktail bar – winner: Sub 13

Health & Beauty – winner: RJS Fitness

Restaurant – winner: Hudson

Retailer – winner: World Market Travel

Gastro Pub – winner: Chequers

Special Achievement Award – winner: Nina Rack, The Forever Friends Appeal

The judges were Alistair Colston (Colston and Colston), Malcolm Coury (Money Wise), Jez Curwin (Bath Rugby), Lizzie Heffer (Thrings), Jemma Hickman (Bo Lee Gallery and Bath Art Group), Anne Moss (Moss of Bath), Adam Thomas (Hall and Woodhouse), Martin Tracy (The Framing Workshop) and Bill Vasilieff (Novia).
