The owners of Bath on Ice, the city’s festive ice rink, have confirmed they will return next Christmas after enjoying huge success in their first year.

The rink, in Royal Victoria Park, featured in Visit England’s and Reader’s Digest’s top 10 lists of festive ice rinks and attractions and also received national radio and press coverage.

It attracted skaters of all ages and experience from toddlers to grandparents as well as a number of seasoned skaters also used it regularly throughout the six weeks it was in operation.

Now the ice has melted and the skate boots have been put away, the owners have pledged to return in Christmas 2013 with bigger and better facilities.

Bath on Ice director and local businessman Simon Smith said: “It has been a huge challenge to provide a real ice rink in Bath and we have worked very hard to ensure that it operated well in its first year.

“However, there are lessons to be learnt and with all the positive feedback we have received we shall endeavour to develop the facilities we provide.

“I am certainly looking forward to planning ahead this year in order to provide a better attraction next Christmas.”

Bath on Ice returns on November 22 until the January 5, 2014.  For further details go to www.bathonice.com
