High-end conference organisers from Europe and beyond are being targeted in a bid to bring their events to Bath by stressing the city’s ‘wow factor’ and its wide range of premier venues.

Bath Tourism Plus (BTP) is exhibiting at the UK’s first-ever three-day Meetings Show UK at London’s Olympia, which opens tomorrow, and will then host a visit to the city by a number of event organisers.

BTP will join more than 300 exhibitors targeting top-class incentive travel and event agencies who will ultimately decide whether to bring their conventions, conferences, corporate hospitality, product launches, special events or incentive programmes to Bath.

Then, on Thursday and Friday, BTP will welcome a number of hosted buyers attending the event to the city on a ‘post-event tour’.

They will stay at Bailbrook House Hotel, which has recently had a £10m refurbishment, visit Thermae Bath Spa and a take part in a walking tour of the city incorporating Bath’s premier event venues.

There will also be a VIP safari tour and lunch at Longleat House & Safari Park as well as an evening drinks reception at Bath’s Assembly Rooms and dinner in the Pump Room.

BTP conference sales & marketing executive Amy Barber will meet key event organisers at the Meetings Show, which has attracted exhibitors from more than 50 countries across six continents.

BTP will share its stand with partners Longleat Resort and Bath’s Historic Buildings, giving a unique overview of the destination and its venues, which offer event organisers great options and unique experiences for incentive trips, conferences and meetings.

Amy said: “Exhibiting at the Meetings Show UK presents plenty of opportunity to raise Bath’s profile to new audiences from Europe looking to host events along with domestic clients looking for new ideas.”

BTP chief executive Nick Brooks-Sykes added: “Bath is an internationally-recognised destination situated in a good location with great transport links in the UK – only 90 minutes by train from London Paddington and the city can be easily reached from mainland Europe with flights coming into Bristol Airport. With its spectacular century-spanning architecture, Bath has plenty of unique venues to choose from, perfect for staging events and providing incentive activities.”
