Twenty-one firms that represent Bath’s innovative business culture and talented workforce will be highlighted this year as the city’s Bath Unlimited campaign is stepped up.

Bath Unlimited was launched last October to support the city’s Invest in Bath inward investment arm in attracting businesses to the area by celebrating some of its dynamic, successful, world-class companies and their talented employees.

Bath Unlimited’s website www.bathunlimited.org, which initially featured profiles of 17 companies, has now been expanded to celebrate the achievements of four additional local firms to fit in with the campaign’s new theme of ‘21 for 2021’.

The four new businesses are:

  • Actual Experience, which provides insight via data and analytics for firms looking to improve the experience of their employees and customers when using their IT systems, focussing on what’s important – employee wellbeing, business efficiency and brand perception.
  • Complete Control, the leading children’s interactive production company creating imaginative, innovative and playful digital experiences for the younger generation. For more than 20 years Complete Control has been creating apps, games, websites, and television and has been awarded two BAFTAs for its interactive work across entertainment and education It involves children at every stage of development.
  • Mayden, which creates digital technology that supports healthcare providers to securely manage their clinical records and unlock valuable data insights to improve their service efficiency and outcomes. It designs and builds insightful cloud-based systems to support healthcare services in providing high-quality, comprehensive and consistent care, securely storing the clinical records of more than 3m patients.
  • Storm is the digital technology agency that created the Bath Digital Festival. It also co-founded CiteAb, the world's largest life science data provider, saving the life science industry an estimated $1bn a year and saving countless lives in the process. At the beginning of last year Storm launched the Co-forest project, which aims to bring together like-minded individuals and organisations to purchase and protect land, before planting trees to sequester carbon.

Bath Unlimited is a collaboration between Bath & North East Somerset Council, Royds Withy King, brand and design studio Mytton Williams and the University of Bath. It is being supported by Bath Business News, which has been profiling the businesses featured in the campaign.

Bath & North East Somerset Council leader Dine Romero, who also chairs the council’s economic recovery board, said: “Bath Unlimited’s campaign celebrates our diverse local economy and the new firms added to the website exemplify the world-class businesses and exceptional talent we have here.

“As we respond to the Covid-19 challenge it is vital that we raise the profile of our outstanding local firms, as well as celebrating Bath and North East Somerset as a great place to do business.

“With international communication links, leading research centres at our two universities and huge potential for growth, with exciting developments such as Bath Quays and the Somer Valley Enterprise Zone, our area has so much to offer businesses.”

Last month University of Bath MBA students worked with Bath Unlimited to support it in developing its strategy, with their research underlining the city’s strong quality of life, its support for business start-ups and the strength of its financial and defence sectors.
