Bath’s Jamie’s Italian restaurant to take part in worldwide food revolution

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Foundation is launching the first world-wide Food Revolution Day on May 19 during which his Jamie's Italian in Bath will be running a homemade lemonade stand and serving a hog roast from 11am until 3pm.

Food Revolution Day will inspire, educate and empower people about real food and thousands of food lovers in cities around the world are expected to take part by hosting and joining in events to highlight the incredible benefits of better food.

Events take place from May 18 to 20, bringing together an international community of foodies, chefs, parents and educators, companies and celebrities as well as those who just want to learn more about their rights to healthy food choices.

Local events will spread knowledge about healthier food choices and the dangers to society of food-related diseases, such as obesity. So far groups in 45 countries have signed up to take action.

People taking part can hone their good food skills during community cooking classes or get stuck into gardening masterclasses. There will also be tours of farmers’ markets and tips on starting up food blogs.

Participants can also sign up to host a dinner party or discover ways of bringing healthier choices into schools or the workplace.
