The region’s biggest international trade event is to be staged next week by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the Government’s exporting support and advice body.

ExploreExport 2012 takes place at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, Bristol, on Friday 16 November, providing the opportunity to meet experts from more than 70 countries who will provide bespoke advice for businesses.

Now in its fifth year, ExploreExport has been designed to help guide local companies through a period of rapid world economic change as well as provide them with an opportunity to meet and network with a broad selection of organisations that can help develop overseas ambitions.

Companies new to exporting can gain valuable advice from experts well versed in the art of doing business abroad, learn best practice and hear about specific, relevant opportunities in various international markets. Experienced exporters can also take the opportunity to explore new markets, network with specialists from unchartered territories, develop new contacts and source new opportunities in their existing markets.

ExploreExport is part of Export Week, a campaign led by Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green to increase the number of British exporters by roughly a quarter and add around £36bn to the UK economy.

Among the 70-plus countries represented at ExploreExport will be China, South Africa, Japan, Hong Kong, Dubai, Australia and New Zealand, along with other nations from SE Asia, North America, Africa, the Caribbean and South America. Among European countries will be Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Bulgaria, the Nordics, Slovakia, Serbia, Cyprus, Ireland, Russia, Greece and the Baltic States.

In addition to the morning one-to-one sessions and exhibition, afternoon seminars and workshops will include:

  • How to Boost Your Digital Marketing Overseas – Viper Marketing
  • 7 Habits of Highly Effective Exporters – Learning Impact
  • European Research & Development Funding Opportunities – Enterprise Europe Network
  • Internationally Trading Businesses – What are the opportunities and why should you bother? Lloyds TSB
  • How to Win an Export Deal – Stop Being so British! Export Communications Review Consultants
  • Make Sense of Export Documentation – Business West
  • Making Trade Shows Work for your Business – British Expertise
  • Intellectual Property, A Valuable Asset of Business – Ignite IP

Regional UKTI director Russell Jones said: “More than 300 delegates are expected to attend ExploreExport, but there is still time to register for this important event. This is an ideal opportunity for companies to find out more about international trade opportunities and how exports can help their business grow.”
