The founder of Bath-based care company Butterfly has set her sights high for her 50th birthday and is jumping out of a plane to raise fund for Dorothy House Hospice.

After receiving a gift of a sky dive from her children Ben and Hannah for her recent big birthday, Anne Pelling, pictured, decided to make her leap count – and has pledged to raise £500 for the charity.

Anne said: “It’s true to say I’m terrified about the sky dive but I’m now highly motivated to do it and make a small difference.

“My team in both Bath and Wiltshire chose Dorothy House as our charity of the year to support.

“We have worked with many clients and their relatives who have benefited from the invaluable services offered and we’re pleased to be able to give something back through our year of fundraising.”

The skydive is the first of several events planned by the Butterfly team of 73, who work from two offices –  in Odd Down, Bath and Westbury, Wiltshire.

Anne will be taking the plunge on April 23 at Sarum Airfield, Salisbury. Anyone who wishes to find out more or make a donation should go to http://bit.ly/1QPxIQw

Butterfly was set up eight years ago in Bath by Anne, who had a long and distinguished career as a carer. The firm expanded into Wiltshire in 2013.

Dorothy House delivers care to people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers across Bath and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire in an area which covers 700 sq miles and a community of 550,000 people.
