Bath health and fitness coach Zita Alves has been signed up as a food ambassador to support celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.

Zita, founder of Zest Bootcamp, has become part of a global movement that allows people who love food to come together to share information, pass on their knowledge and highlight the world’s food issues.

The voluntary ambassadors have been selected by The Jamie Oliver Food Foundation. They are now working on getting their message across on Food Revolution Day, May 17.

Food Revolution is a global movement that aims to connect community schools, restaurants and local businesses to share talent, information and resources and to inspire change in food habits while promoting its mission of better food and education for everyone.

Zita said: “I’ve always been passionate about good food and healthy eating so this is the perfect way to work with the local community to educate and inspire the next generation as well as adults to fight obesity and disease.”

Jamie Oliver added: “This is all about people power. If enough of us stand up and say that we care about where our food comes from and that we demand better food education for our children, then the governments of the world will start to listen. Ambassadors like Zita are doing an incredible job and I can’t wait to hear about what everyone’s doing in May.”

Zita is seeking support from Bath area businesses, restaurants, schools, organisation and individuals who share the vision. Anyone interested can contact Zita at fitnesszita@gmail.com
