Radstock-based print and post services firm CFH Docmail has been named as the UK’s fastest-growing hybrid mail company in the influential Print Week ‘Top 500’ league table, which acts as a bellwether report on the UK print industry.

The firm achieved year-on-year sales growth of 37.25% with net profit rising by 163% and staff numbers up 18%. During the year CFH also saved jobs at Scottish print company BSS which it acquired out of administration.

This year it expects turnover to rise from £41m to £45m and plans to invest £2m in technology infrastructure to underpin its rapid growth. Hybrid mail combines physical delivery of traditional hard copy items with electronic deliver.

Managing director Dave Broadway said: “It’s very gratifying to be recognised by our industry and to be able to bench mark our achievements.

“We have purchased two new Converged Infrastructure Systems from Hewlett Packard Enterprises allowing for data centre consolidation across the group while delivering a core infrastructure that can rapidly scale to support new acquisitions and new innovations.

“This convergence will allow CFH to build centres of excellence within the group for both IT infrastructure and staff and to create a platform that is a growth enabler for the business.”

The firm, which owns the Velopost environmentally friendly doorstep deliver service, is increasing its electric vehicle fleet with a new Nissan e-NV200 electric van for postal collections in and around Bristol and Bath.

It will also shortly be adding a Nissan Leaf to its Edinburgh site for postal collections.

“The increase in demand for our services will inevitably see the need for recruitment which is good news for the local economy,” added Mr Broadway.
