Novia Financial, the Bath-based wealth management firm, has set up its own charity foundation to primarily support projects that aim to improve and help the lives of people in the city and its surroundings.

The Novia Foundation, which has been accepted on the Register of Charities, was created to mark 10 years since adviser platform Novia Financial was launched by CEO Bill Vasilieff.

The firm has grown exponentially over the past decade and believes supporting the Novia Foundation will help more efficiently channel its active and growing contribution to the local community.

Novia Financial has already helped the Foundation’s trustees set it up by funding the legal costs involved in establishing the charity.

The firm, one of Bath’s largest private employers, will also support it by providing access to some of the skills needed to run the charity, such as website and financial accounting, as well as supporting the foundation’s fundraising activities.

The foundation will be governed by a board of trustees.

Trustee Pippa Russell, who is also head of corporate communications at Novia, said: “It is such a fantastic opportunity to support a wide range of local projects as well as helping to efficiently channel the hugely successful fund-raising initiatives and volunteering work that Novia has already achieved over the 10 years since launch.

“With our initial fundraising activities already in the works, we are keen to hit the ground running. We are extremely grateful to all those who have already given up their time to help set up the foundation. We believe the commitment to give back to the community as well as the access to volunteers and fund raising will stand us in good stead as we kick start our first round of initiatives.”

Novia Financial CEO Bill Vasilieff added: “Novia has always been hugely active in raising money for causes which our staff are passionate about.  We are thrilled to be supporting the Novia Foundation which is looking to raise money for a variety of charitable initiatives.”

Other Foundation trustees are James Savage, Sarah Howarth, Ben Collings and Tony Stevens.
