Bath in Fashion 2012 has mined the city’s rich vein of creativity to produce a powerful new image and marketing support to reflect its exciting programme of events.

With just over a month before it takes place, the creativity behind Bath in Fashion is now coming to the fore.

Steve Haskins of Wick-based So Design has created the stunning new look for the Bath advertising campaign.

He commissioned Bath based photographer Simon Powell to capture the essence of the campaign, which portrays contemporary fashion against some of Bath’s most stunning architectural masterpieces.

Bath Business Improvement District (BID) manager Andrew Cooper said: “We are delighted that the new campaign combines the contemporary edge of Bath fashions with the iconic architecture that is synonymous with the city.

“It tells the story about Bath today and will keep Bath top of mind with shoppers in the region.”

The digital print silk dress featured in the campaign is by Jean-Pierre Braganza and the necklace is by Jolita, both by British Designers@FashionCapital in Milsom Place, styled by Bath in Fashion top stylist, Rebekah Roy.

The advertising campaign has been funded by the BID with support from Bath’s destination marketing organisation Bath Tourism Plus.

Head of marketing for Bath Tourism Plus David Jackson added: “We commissioned Zeffa of Bristol to plan a media schedule to create a high impact using outdoor media including buses, taxis and poster sites as well as a print campaign.”

The public relations campaign is being orchestrated by Bath agency Hancock Communications.  The event has already attracted attention from Harpers, Tatler and Vogue.Com and has been featured on the homepage of VisitBritain’s media site.  Competitions and editorial will feature in regional lifestyle magazines as well as an exclusive Tatler reader event during Bath in Fashion 2012.

The images for the BID spring awareness campaign complements the Bath in Fashion imagery and will be used extensively to promote the destination with the headline Must-have style, Must Visit Bath – a compelling message attracting visitors to a city that it both stylish and fashionable.

Bath in Fashion 2012 takes place from March 25 to April 1. Tickets are selling fast for events ranging from talks by celebrities from the world of fashion like top milliner, Stephen Jones and Amanda Wakeley, guest designer for Bath in Fashion 2012 who plans to bring her London Fashion Week show for spring/summer ’12 to Bath.  Inspirational workshops; talks by fashion guru Roger Saul and style icon, Matteo Alessi; and a series of glittering catwalk events make for an action packed week.
