Cultural and voluntary organisations across Bath & North East Somerset can learn the latest techniques in areas such as digital marketing and fundraising at the inaugural Thrive Bath Conference.

The event takes place on Monday March 30 at the University of Bath with keynote speaker Sue Hoyle, director of the Clore Programme, talking about leadership in the cultural and voluntary sectors.

Other speakers include The Audience Agency explaining audience development, Natural Theatre Company looking at programming in non-specific spaces, and Tracey Guiry from Literature Works on fundraising.

Additional sessions will cover creating and managing high-performance teams, maximising digital marketing, and utilising technology to work smarter. Lightning talks will include contributions from regional leaders in their field presenting and discussing issues that are of importance to them and to the sector including ‘What I Wish I Had Known Before’, Creative Commissioning Approaches and the Value of Networks.

Lead facilitator Claire Eason-Bassett said: “We have developed this programme in close consultation with cultural and voluntary sector organisations and we are thrilled that our speakers have agreed to contribute their knowledge and insight to the conference.

“With input from a wide range of leaders and practitioners, both local and national, the conference promises to be a great learning experience for everyone. It is thanks to the support from Bath & NE Somerset Council that we can deliver this conference at such a great price so I hope that everyone will take advantage of it.”

Tickets cost £40 and include a buffet lunch and parking. Visit www.thrivebath.co.uk for more information and the full programme.

The conference has been commissioned by the Bath & North East Somerset Council’s arts development service, and developed and delivered by Cornwall-based Mackerel Sky Events.
