Bishop Fleming Independent Financial Advisers, part of fast-growing West accountancy firm Bishop Fleming, has appointed Darren Steadman as a financial planning consultant to serve clients across Bath and Bristol.

Mr Steadman, who was educated in Bristol, spent 20 years with AXA Sun Life in the city, rising to implementation manager.

More recently, he was a client manager for Bank of Scotland Investment Solutions and client relationship manager at Santander.

Bishop Fleming Independent Financial Advisers managing director Ian Saunders said: “Darren brings a superb level of advisory expertise and a long-established understanding of this region.

“His arrival enables us to meet the growing demand for advice from clients of the firm’s Bristol, Bath, and Worcester offices.”

Bishop Fleming, which has seven offices including Bath, was recently named as the country’s fastest-growing Top 40 accountants for the second year running. It has also gained the national title of ‘best tax practice in a regional firm’, securing ‘outstanding’ accreditation from Investors in Clients, and was listed as one of the UK’s 12 best accountancy employers.

It is also shortlisted in two categories in the National Accountancy Awards – Best Mid-Tier Firm and Best Employer. The awards take place in London on November 20.
