Bath-based brand and design agency Mytton Williams has been ranked alongside some of the world’s largest creative organisations by winning two highly coveted awards.

The firm, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary, was presented with the accolades – both for calendars produced as side projects – at the D&AD professional awards.

The awards showcase the finest commercial design and advertising across the globe. Thousands of agencies around the world enter work in the hope they will land one of the prestigious pencil trophies – viewed as the pinnacle of creativity and among hardest to win.

Winners are acknowledged for their outstanding work and dedication to their craft.

Mytton Williams gained its brace of pencils in the Graphic Design category for its Everyday Jazz calendar and A Notable Year calendar.

Everyday Jazz gave the agency a chance to do something different. It is unique, real-time interactive calendar creating something every day in response to the music and seasons.

The agency’s 20th anniversary inspired its Notable Year calendar. It offers a trip through history by highlighting notable events as each new day is peeled off.

Mytton Williams creative director Bob Mytton said: “Winning one pencil would have been amazing, but two is incredible. Side projects have become very important to us as an agency.

“Every year we embark on a calendar that allows us to push our creativity to the limit.”

Mytton Williams delivers brand and design projects for national and international blue-chip organisations such as Clarks, British Glass Biennale, English Heritage, Royal Mail, and Waitrose as well as local clients including Footprint Handbooks, Bath Spa University, law firm Thrings and Thermae Bath Spa.

The D&AD pencils are the latest in a series of awards won by studio and it has also been recognised in publications around the world.

Bob Mytton helped set up the West of England Design Forum, the studio has taken on many graduates and continues to participate in design education.
