Bath-headquartered law firm Royds Withy King has further boosted its expertise in insolvency dispute resolution with the appointment of Julie Killip as a partner.

Julie, pictured, has joined from the London office of international commercial law firm Ince, where she spent nearly eight years as a partner and joint head of restructuring and insolvency.

In a career spanning more than 35 years, she has also worked for Davenport Lyons and Mischon de Reya and has experience of dealing with all areas of insolvency with a particular focus on contentious insolvency, banking and commercial litigation.

Her work has also included partnership and shareholder disputes and she has conducted large-scale fraud actions for corporate clients and insolvency procedures involving pre-action injunctions, such as search-and-seize orders, disclosure orders and the tracing of assets on an international scale.

Julie, who will work from Royds Withy King’s London office, is a member of R3, the trade association for the UK’s insolvency and restructuring professionals.

She said: “I’m delighted to be joining the recovery and insolvency team at Royds Withy King. The firm has a fantastic reputation in the sector and I am really looking forward to contributing my expertise to the team.”

The firm’s head of the disputes team in London, Milan Kapadia, added: “Julie has a strong reputation and a proven track record for getting results for clients both in the UK and overseas.

“Accelerating the growth of our insolvency offering is a key objective of our firm and we are delighted to have Julie onboard.”

Royds Withy King, which also has offices in Bristol, Swindon and Oxford, is to merge with London practice Goodman Derrick on May 1.

At present it employs around 520 people, including 70-plus partners, providing a wide range of services, from corporate and commercial to family and private client law, across a number of key sectors.
