A founding partner of Bath-based wealth management firm Epoch has joined an elite group of UK financial planners by becoming a fellow of two leading professional bodies.

Dr Markas Gilmartin, pictured, is one of only 80 fellows of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP), having recently gained a masters degree in financial planning and business management from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Fellowship of the IFP is one of the industry’s most-prestigious titles. It demonstrates that Dr Gilmartin has reached the pinnacle of the financial planning profession and the very highest levels of experience and knowledge.

He is also a fellow of the Personal Finance Society (PFS), part of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) – the world’s largest professional body dedicated to insurance and financial services. The organisation has about 1,600 fellows. Very few individuals are fellows of both the IFP and CII.

Dr Gilmartin said: “I am immensely proud to have received independent recognition from these respected organisations – it really is quite an accolade.

“It demonstrates Epoch’s commitment to maintaining the very highest standards of professionalism for technical knowledge, client service and ethical practice.”

Epoch Wealth Management provides specialist investment and tax planning services, ranging from traditional portfolio management for individuals to specialist investment and tax planning for corporate clients including businesses, trusts and charities.
