Eastern Airways is adding additional flights from Bristol Airport to Aberdeen and Leeds Bradford to attract more business and leisure travellers.

The regional airline, the UK’s second-largest regional carrier, will increase services from two to three each weekday to both Aberdeen and Leeds-Bradford from October 3.

Eastern Airways’ commercial director Kay Ryan said: “We’re providing business travellers with greater choice and flexibility by offering more flights to Aberdeen and Leeds Bradford to meet demand.

“Passengers will be able to maximise day visits, saving valuable time and also benefit from an improved choice of afternoon and evening flights at the end of the week when returning home.”

The West of England has strong links with both cities. Aberdeen, in north east Scotland, is Europe’s energy capital with the vibrant oil industry, while Leeds’ has become an important centre for financial services.

Weekday flights to Leeds Bradford and Aberdeen will leave Bristol at 6.45am, 12.05pm (Mon-Wed), 1.45pm (Thu-Fri), and 5.15pm (Mon-Wed) and 6pm (Thu-Fri).

Flights from Aberdeen to Bristol depart at 6.50am, 11.30am (Mon-Wed), 3pm (Thu-Fri) and 5pm.

Leeds Bradford flights to Bristol take off at 8.15am, 12.55pm (Mon-Wed), 4.20pm (Thu-Fri) and 6.35pm.

A Sunday service will also continue to be offered to both Leeds Bradford and Aberdeen from Bristol.

Bristol Airport aviation director Shaun Browne said: “By enhancing its schedule to Leeds-Bradford and Aberdeen, Eastern Airways has made travel to these two key business destinations more convenient for South West passengers. Eastern Airways’ services are vital for organisations in this region wishing to do business in Yorkshire or north east Scotland, and the improved frequency to these destinations will also make the route more attractive for leisure passengers.

“This announcement demonstrates the continued importance of domestic air travel in providing convenient links between the South West and other parts of the UK.”

Eastern Airways was formed more than 13 years ago and has a fleet of 30 aircraft flying from 21 airports in the UK, Ireland, Norway and France. It has been operating from Bristol for seven years.

Passengers flying with the airline, consistently rated one of the UK’s most punctual, are not charged for check-in, baggage, choice of seat or onboard drinks and snacks.

Check-in closes just 20 minutes before the departure time and all Eastern Airways passengers can use the dedicated fast track security channel at Leeds-Bradford and Aberdeen airports to avoid any queues.
