Bath businesses are to get the chance to meet individuals who took part in a specialist digital skills programme staged in the city at an event later this month.

The 2023 Click Start Programme offered a series of free digital skills sessions targeting learners from low-income and minority backgrounds as a way of tackling the digital skills gap and improving social mobility.

Bath Spa University teamed up with the University of Bath-led Institute of Coding (IoC) to provide training in creative digital skills, including in UX/UI and web development.

Over the eight-week course, those taking part worked on live briefs, in groups and individually, strengthening their problem-solving skills, creativity, adaptability and resilience.

To celebrate the course and for local businesses to connect with the talented students and witness the positive impact of the program, an “evening filled with fun, learning, and networking” is being held on 25 April at Newark Works on Foundry Lane, pictured.

The event, which will run from 6pm to 9pm will include guest speakers on a range of topics from recruitment strategies, apprenticeships and entrepreneurship, to career inspirations and aspiration, health and wellbeing.

It will also provide an opportunity for networking, connecting with employability experts, and will give the students a platform to showcase their new skills.
