The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath has appointed Helen Griffiths to the role of spa manager, bringing with her more than 20 years’ experience in the industry.

Helen, pictured, started out as a spa receptionist with holiday venue group Center Parcs, where she went on to re-train as a beauty therapist, progressing to spa manager within five years.

Following this, she continued to train in other therapies, such as ayurvedic massage, and worked for Sanctuary Spa in London, where she supported the openings of three city spas.

More recently she was spa director at the Accor brand Mercure in Bristol, where she worked with a range of skincare brands including Elemis, Decleor, Temple Spa, Phytomer and Sisley.

In her new role at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa she will be responsible for managing its spa and gym facilities’ operations, overseeing memberships, looking after guests, health and safety, training and team welfare and managing spa partners and products.

She said she was “absolutely thrilled” to be leading the spa team at the 45-bedroom hotel, which is owned by London-based, privately owned investment group Topland.

“It is such an iconic hotel and already has such an impressive reputation as a hotel spa destination. I look forward to sharing my expertise with the team and bringing fresh new ideas to the table,” she said

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa general manager Lorraine Jarvie added: “I am delighted to have Helen Griffiths onboard and heading up the team at the hotel’s spa.

“She has some impressive experience and I look forward to seeing how she grows the team and develops the spa experience over the coming months.”
