A company that supplies paper and canvas shopping bags to leading retailers has relocated to larger premises to give it space to continue its growth and install the first digital printer of its kind in the UK.
The Paper Bag Company has upped sticks from its base in the Oakfield Business Centre on the Northacre Industrial Estate in Westbury to a unit on Woodland Industrial Estate about 1km away.
The move has enabled it to launch its own digital printing department to supply custom-made printed bags on demand.
The Paper Bag Company, which was launched by director Jon Marling in 2006, supplies plain and printed paper promotional bags to retailers across the UK made as well as reusable carriers made from cotton, jute and canvas.
Mr Marling said the moved to Unit 6 at the Woodland Industrial Estate – on which the firm has signed a 10-year lease with landlord HPH Commercial Property – could also lead to six new jobs, taking its staffing from 12 to 18 over the next year.
He said: “We have seen an increase in demand for promotional bags needed in much shorter lead times and the new printer enables us to print complicated artwork on bags within a few days. We are the only company in the UK to have this new printer.”
