Media planning and buying agency Mostly Media has been appointed by greeting card marketplace thortful.com to manage its offline media planning and buying.

Thortful supports a community of designers, illustrators and photographers who create unique cards, most of which cannot be found anywhere else.

Its head of offline advertising Alexandra Tooher described Mostly Media, which buys advertising on behalf of its clients on TV, digital, press, out-of-home, cinema and radio, as its “perfect partner”.

And for Stuart Smith, managing director of Mostly Media, which is based in the Glove Factory Studios at Holt, near Bradford On Avon, working with London-based Thortful was the “perfect fit”.

Thortful, which launched in 2016, describes itself as passionate about the product it is building and has a shared vision of making the world a “more thortful” place.

By using its app, users can choose from tens of thousands of cards for every occasion. It also saves key dates and schedules future card deliveries with the ability to upload message in their own handwriting to print inside the card.

The firm also said all its artists are paid an industry-leading royalty rate.

Alexandra Tooher said: “Next year will be a hugely important year for thortful, and our offline media strategy will be a big part of this.

“From my first meeting with the Mostly Media team, I knew they would be the perfect fit for us.

“Their years of experience with direct response media, combined with their data driven approach makes them our perfect partner, and we’re really looking forward to working with them, and all the exciting things we will be able to achieve together.”

Stuart Smith added: “The entire team are absolutely thrilled to work alongside such a wonderful brand and are extremely excited to be involved at such a critical time in the business’ development.

“It’s not often that every member of our team is already a customer of the brands we work with but with thortful this was the case.  From our first conversation with Alex we were positive that our track record in helping digital native brands scale at pace using offline media would be the perfect fit and we now just can’t wait to get going.”

The thortful account win follows Mostly Media’s success in landing work earlier this year with Primas Life, a new life insurance company aiming to disrupt the market, collectables 288 Group and the Glasses Direct brand, the UK’s leading online prescription eyewear retailer.
