TheAgency, the rapidly-expanding Bath-based integrated creative agency, has been appointed by natural weight loss aid Slimsticks to spearhead its advertising and marketing communications ahead of a national roll-out.

Slimsticks, a natural product which helps weight loss by reducing the body’s appetite, appointed model and former Big Brother housemate Imogen Thomas, pictured, as its brand ambassador in 2011.

Sales have grown steadily through a tie-in with Lloyds Pharmacy and online via its own website and Amazon. The brand is about to announce a link-up to sell through a well-known national retailer.

Franco Beer, managing director of Inovate Health, the company behind Slimsticks, said: “The appointment of TheAgency represents an exciting opportunity for the Slimsticks brand.  Now the time is right to really push mass market penetration and position Slimsticks at the forefront of all weight loss and weight management products.”

TheAgency, known for taking challenger brands to the number one spot, will help drive growth in sales across a number of media channels, with particular focus online.

TheAgency have sought an aggressive growth strategy for themselves throughout 2012, having successfully added Teachers Assurance and global casino brand InterCasino to its list of client wins, as well as making some high-profile senior staff appointments.

Partner Saman Mansourpour said: “We are an integrated agency with digital at our heart, and there’s nothing we like more than serving a growing and demand-led category with a product that potentially breaks the boundaries for success. Slimsticks have some of the strongest scientific evidence to support their product, and raising the brand awareness and scaling up the sales should be relatively easy.”
