First chance for potential buyers to view Holburne Park housing scheme

Buyers interested in getting a feel for the classically-styled homes being built at Bath’s Holburne Park ahead of its sales launch can attend a preview from next week.

A mixture of two, three and four-bedroom houses will be launched to the market on January 28.

The scheme, one of Bath’s most significant new housing projects, is being developed by Bristol-based Hardrock Developments in a secluded location on Warminster Road, above Sydney Gardens and bordering the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Construction work has started on the first phase, the first of a number of phases over the next three years. When complete, the scheme will include more than 200 new homes.

During the preview period, which runs until January 27, potential buyers can make an appointment to visit the marketing pavilion and find out more about the homes, see examples of the layouts and materials being used, as well as a 3D model of the development showing the homes in situ.

Vicky Dudbridge, associate director at Savills, which is marketing the development, said there had already been a high level of interest in Holburne Park.

“We have received a huge number of inquiries. [Its] a fantastic site so close to the centre of Bath, with expansive views of the city’s skyline and for miles beyond,” she said.

“Interestingly, a large proportion of the inquiries have come from people in the villages surrounding Bath who are looking to relocate back into the city centre, while they encompass a real mix of types of purchasers, from downsizers to families with young children or teenagers, and from professionals to first-time buyers. This paves the way for the creation of a balanced, community-focused neighbourhood.”

The site is surrounded by greenery and boasts expansive views – yet is a short walk from the city centre.

The homes, according to Savills, will have a timeless appeal and honour Bath’s distinct character but are designed for modern living.

The facades of the homes will be made of locally-sourced Bath stone and natural materials with bespoke detailing. Many of the homes feature flexible living spaces as well as formal living rooms, open plan designs and garages or parking spaces.

Vicky Dudbridge added: “We wanted to give people the chance to come in and get a real understanding for what is being created at Holburne Park, without feeling without feeling under pressure to commit immediately.

“Hopefully, this two-week period will give those who are interested the chance to fully digest what is on offer here, allowing them to make a considered decision.”

Hardrock Developments director Francis Firmstone, said: “There are many people who like the idea of living in a classical period property but don’t want the burden of the associated upkeep of a listed or heritage building. Holburne Park will offer the character of classical architecture but with all the advantages of modern fittings and contemporary design.”

The first homes are expected to be ready for their new owners to move into later this year.

Prices start at £480,000 for the two-bedroom homes, £545,000 for the three-bedroom and £900,000 for the three-bedroom.
