Bath-based Andrew Brownsword Hotels, which owns 13 properties around the UK including The Bath Priory, has appointed its first chief commercial officer.

Anthony Potts, pictured, joins in the newly created role after 23 years with British Airways, where he held senior roles in key global markets including Hong Kong, San Francisco and New York.

His role will be to drive commercial initiatives across the group’s 13 hotels, which includes eight countryside properties, four city centre ABode hotels and Sydney House Chelsea. He will also work on building and developing the team.

He joins two months after the arrival of new CEO John Bradley, who said: “As our CCO, Anthony will play a pivotal role in guiding and inspiring our commercial initiatives and in building the skills of our staff team, enabling individuals to develop and to take the next steps on their career ladder with us.

“Anthony has a proven track record of fostering collaboration, nurturing talent and delivering outstanding results, and we are very much looking forward to him joining us.”

Anthony Potts added: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Andrew Brownsword Hotels, which is renowned for its unparalleled excellence in the world of hospitality.

“It is an immense honour to become part of such a prestigious brand and I am eagerly looking forward to collaborating with the talented team, leveraging our collective expertise and contributing to the continued success and growth of the brand.”

Family-owned Andrew Brownsword Hotels’ collection also includes the award-winning Gidleigh Park in Devon, the 900-year-old Amberley Castle in West Sussex, and the Sydney House Chelsea in London.
