Bath law firm Mogers Drewett has launched a campaign to support three foodbanks during their crucial Christmas period.

The firm’s office in The Square on Lower Bristol Rd – along with its bases in Sherborne and Wells – are now accepting donations of long-life food items, cleaning products and toiletries, such as shower gel and deodorants for their local foodbanks.

It is also launching a Christmas raffle, with tickets – which cost £1 each – on sale at its offices.

Prizes range from an overnight stay at an award-winning luxury hotel in Dorset and afternoon tea at the five-star Bath Spa Hotel to tickets to the Bishop Palace in Wells, plus much more. All proceeds will go to the foodbanks.

Grainne Moher, manager of Bath Foodbank – one of Genesis Trust’s projects in the city – said: “We are so grateful for the support of local people helping other local people who are in crisis.

“We are seeing more of our community needing to receive emergency food, household supplies and access to ongoing support at our foodbank centres.

“Food donations and financial support such as this will help us to continue to support local people in desperate need this year.”

Mogers Drewett managing partner Sean McDonough, pictured, added: “Mogers Drewett has a long history of supporting local charities and community activities.

“This year we have decided to support our local foodbanks as we can see how deeply the cost-of-living crisis is affecting our communities and we really want to help.”

He said the firm wanted to focus this year’s charitable activity on food banks so it could help to support local communities.

“We see this as the start of a longer-term relationship through 2023 which, in addition to our Christmas campaign, will see the firm make its own cash donations, encourage staff to volunteer at food banks and work with the providers to identify additional fundraising activities into 2023,” he said.
