Accountancy firm Bishop Fleming, which has an office in Bath, has boosted its corporate finance team with the appointment of Charles Davey, the former NatWest director of structured finance in the South West and South Wales.

Mr Davey joins Bishop Fleming as director of corporate finance after eight years at the bank, where he completed numerous major transactions including family succession, management buyouts (MBOs), acquisitions, project finance and fund-raising, working with a wide range of businesses.

Prior to joining NatWest he was a key figure in the corporate finance team for the South West and Wales at PKF, the national accountancy firm that has now become part of the global BDO firm.

Mr Davey will work across Bishop Fleming’s offices in Bristol and Worcester as well as Bath.

He said: “It is a privilege to be joining such a strong corporate finance team within a well-respected firm. I am really looking forward to returning to my roots and bringing my expertise in both corporate finance and banking to businesses across three regions.”

Bishop Fleming head of corporate finance Robert Davey added: “Charles’ detailed knowledge of the West Country, Welsh, and West Midlands business regions – from his work with NatWest and before – means that he is ideally suited to our team.”

Managing partner Matthew Lee said Mr Davey’s appointment would bring a wealth of experience in leading complex transactions at a time when the recovering economy was generating a greater hunger for corporate finance deals.
