National law firm Stone King has promoted four staff based in its Bath headquarters to equity partners.

Andrew Banks, Jean Boyle, Sarah Lane and Helen Tucker will join their fellow equity share members in shaping the direction of the firm, which also has offices in Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds and London.

The equity group is responsible for the firm’s strategic business direction, succession and sustainability, as well as making sure it achieves its ethos of serving the community.

Stone King managing partner Steven Greenwood said the new appointments would help build on the firm’s success.

“The group is further strengthened with these appointments and we are especially pleased it reflects greater gender diversity,” he said.

“The make-up of the equity group is important as it determines succession and leadership for future years.”

Partner and head of business property and private client property Sarah Lane, pictured bottom left, said she was delighted to be among the appointments.

“I have made Stone King my home for many years, so this is a great moment. I’d like to thank all my colleagues and partners for such wonderful support and friendship, particularly over the last year,” she said.

Employment team partner Jean Boyle, top right, added: “As the youngest member of the equity group I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to develop the firm in the years to come and nurture its uniqueness as custodian for the next generation of equity partners.

Helen Tucker, head of the firm’s independent schools team, bottom right, said: “I am thrilled that I am joining the group with such a diverse and excellent group of peers and pleased that our focus on diversity will continue in the future.”

Andrew Banks, top left, the firm’s risk partner, added: “Stone King has a rich history and dates back to 1785 in Bath. I am delighted to be part of that history and join my peers in continuing the firm’s success.”

In addition, Philip Askew, a partner in the London residential team, is now an ordinary share member of the firm.

The equity appointments come on the back of 11 other promotions last month among the firm’s specialist sectors of business, charity, education and private client law.
