Bath on Ice, the city’s new festive ice rink, has opened for online bookings. Located in Royal Victoria Park, the rink will open daily from 10am to 9pm starting on November 23.

One-hour sessions cost from £7 per person including skate hire and gift vouchers, group bookings, Christmas parties and student discounts are available.

Tiny tot sessions will run at the start of weekday mornings in the build up to the Christmas holidays with doubled-bladed Bob skates available for young children well as Penguin skate aids and ice stewards. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The rink will have an indoor skate changing area and indoor and outdoor viewing for those not taking to the ice. Festive ringside refreshments will also be available including hot chocolate and melted marshmallows and roasted chestnuts. The rink will be open until January 6.

Bath on Ice director Simon Smith said: “We’re absolutely delighted to offer people the chance to enjoy open-air skating on a real ice rink in the centre of Bath. Located right below the Royal Crescent, and with magical lighting adding to this unique experience, we hope we can create an event that Bath can be proud of. It is the perfect Christmas activity and will really get people in the mood for the festive season.”
