Good Energy, the Chippenham-based renewable electricity supplier, has appointed experienced insurance industry finance director Denise Cockrem as its chief financial officer.

Ms Cockrem, who takes up the post on May 1, is currently UK & Western Europe Finance director at multinational insurance group RSA.

Prior to joining RSA in 2006 she was finance director of Direct Line’s retail division. A law graduate from Oxford University, Denise qualified as a chartered accountant with Neville Russell.

Good Energy has also appointed Matthew Allen to the non-board role of director of sales & business development with effect from February 27. He joins from Bloomberg New Energy Finance where he is global commercial head.

Good Energy chief executive Juliet Davenport said: “These two roles are critical at this time of Good Energy’s growth and will help us deliver the next phase of our strategy. “

Earlier this month the firm was awarded top slot in consumer group Which?’s annual energy company satisfaction survey for the third year in a row. The survey covers customers’ views on service, value for money, accuracy and clarity of bills, complaints and energy saving.
