Bath financial adviser Ed Grobler has run 69 miles along the entire length of Hadrian’s Wall to help his daughter’s school raise funds for charity.

Ed, pictured, who works at Epoch Wealth Management, completed the gruelling feat in just one day.

The challenging cross-country race – known as The Wall – followed the world-famous Roman monument from Carlisle Castle to the Millennium Bridge in Gateshead. Ed completed it in 15 hours and 40 minutes.

The keen triathlete, who is used to competing in Iron Man events, was helping his nine-year-old daughter Annabelle and her class at St Mary’s Church of England School in Timsbury raise money for their chosen charity WaterAid, which provides clean water and sanitation to crisis-hit areas around the world.

Ed said: “The terrain was a lot more challenging than I had anticipated but it was worth it because I have helped my daughter and her classmates reach their fundraising target for WaterAid.”

He ran the race – described by organisers as not for the fainthearted – with his brother Johannes, who is a Bath IT consultant.

“I enjoyed a celebratory pint of cider after crossing the finishing line,” Ed added.
