Award-winning Bath PR agency Geometry is in the running for more accolades after receiving a hat-trick of nominations for the region’s top communications awards.

Geometry’s Axe the Pasty Tax campaign has been nominated for two awards in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) West of England PRide Awards, while a campaign for Bath Building Society is also in the running.

The Axe the Pasty Tax campaign was conducted on behalf of the Cornish Pasty Association after the Chancellor announced plans to introduce 20% VAT on all hot baked goods. It is shortlisted in both the Best Use of Media Relations and the Crisis Communications categories.

The rapidly-compiled campaign produced 84 pieces of coverage featuring the Cornish Pasty Association in six weeks. By the end of it, the Government announced that freshly-baked goods, including Cornish pasties, would be exempt from VAT.

In the PRide Awards’ Corporate and Business Communications category, Geometry is in the running for its Up Close & Personal campaign on behalf of Bath Building Society, which used a variety of media to give the society a higher corporate profile.

Geometry public relations director Linda Donaldson said: “We are thrilled and proud to have once again been nominated for awards in the West of England PRide Awards.

“The fact that we continue to receive nominations shows that we continue to be an agile, client-focused agency that gets results for the businesses we work with.”

Geometry’s success at the PRide Awards stretches back to 2008 when it won gold and silver awards. That year it picked up gongs for the Best Use of Media Relations and was runner-up in the Consumer Relations category for the national campaign it created for premium pork pie maker Dickinson & Morris.

Since then the agency has collected a hatful of other accolades. In last year’s awards the company struck gold again in the Best Use of Media Relations and the Best Use of Measurement and Evaluation class for its work on the Cornish Pasty Association’s Made in Cornwall campaign.
