Bath fitness instructor Kate Burles is offering hen parties a healthy alternative to the traditional tutus and shots.

Kate, pictured, who runs fitness group Exercise Easy, has launched the Hen Challenge, a boot camp style session designed to get hen parties moving rather than getting the cocktails start flowing.

Attendees pull on their trainers and head outside for a selection of fresh air workout activities. They can go on to pop the fizz and toast the bride-to-be later – but they have had a healthy start to their partying.

Kate, who has worked as a personal trainer and fitness instructor for almost 10 years, said: “For the more active bride-to-be and bridal party this is a great way to celebrate and get ready for the big day.

“Hen weekends are usually associated with lots of drinking – but I’m offering a fun and energetic alternative. The two-hour Hen Challenge is designed to be enjoyable and can be tailored to all levels of fitness.”

Kate, who spent 30 years working as a PA before launching Exercise Easy six years ago, leads private and group boot camps as well as fitness sessions around Bath as well as advising clients on nutrition and healthy eating.

She has had a keen interest in sport training for many years as a sprinter and competing in 100m, 200m and relay teams across the North East of England. She also enjoys rock climbing, hill walking, road running, half marathons, hockey, aerobics and gym work.

She is a member of REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) and holds a number of qualifications such as Personal Training Level 3, Fitness Instructor Level 3, Circuit Instructor, Nutrition Adviser, Core Stability, Kettlebell Instructor, GP Referral and Boxing Exercise Instructor.
